👉️Once again thank you so much to every other subscriber for being part of the Remote Profile family.

The killer resume that helped one of my friends to land a remote full-stack developer job!

Tips for Creating a Killer Resume:

1. 70% Project Rule
2. Live Hosted Links with GitHub
3. Deedy Format
4. Skills Section on Top
5. Single Page CV

There are 5 basic rules to follow, and you will land a job in the full-stack development:

70% Project Rule In your resume 70% of the content should focus on your projects, and the rest should cover your experience and skills. One of my mentors taught me this: if you don't have a fancy degree or previous job experience, the best thing you can do is to add more weight to your CV with projects.

Live Hosted Links with GitHub This is probably one of the most important things many freshers are missing out on. In the current market trend, recruiters are flooded with more profiles than they can handle. They don't have the time or effort to clone your GitHub project and read your code at first glance. So, if possible, try to deploy your project on a free hosting service and add the URL to your resume along with the GitHub repository link. If someone views your website and finds it interesting, they can come back and view your code. If you can't deploy the project, try to screen record and add a demo video link in the project section.

Deedy Format Design is subjective, but this CV format is called Deedy. Many recruiters and developers love it because it's both clean and well-structured. More information can be added here. Since recruiters are familiar with this format, they can quickly grasp the content.

Skills Section on Top In software development, your skills matter. So, show off your best skills in the top section to have a competitive advantage over others. If someone wants to hire for a particular tech stack and you have those skills, you'll already be shortlisted

Single Page CV Just like Google had a second search page that no one uses, the same applies here. Adding 2 or 3 pages of resume with your hobbies and interests is outdated. So, make it clean and straightforward.

Bonus If you have internship/job experience, instead of writing "I worked at this XYZ company from 2023-2024," try to add something like "I implemented this XYZ feature which increased the product efficiency, etc."

Q&A I know you guys probably have more doubts and want to ask some questions, so we'll do a Twitter space and we can all connect together and discuss more about writing resumes. If you want a Q&A space, drop a comment and tell me which time suits you all.
